Mr Mohapatra also worked as Director in the Board of Shipping Corporation of India, Indian Institute of Maritime Studies and also as Trustee of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust. Mr Mohapatra has also worked as Director, Secretary and CVO of various departments of the Government of India. He was Secretary in Ministry of Shipping. |
Mr. K. Sathianathan, CEO, ETA Freightstar
An Indian Railway Traffic Service officer, Mr K. Sathianathan, CEO of ETA Freightstar, has over 27 years of experience in the rail transport and multimodal logistics sector. After working in various capacities with the Indian Railways, he joined CONCOR where as Head of the Central Region he planned and operationalised all the major container terminals in Central India. He also piloted the creation of the joint ventures of CONCOR in hinterland terminals and the port sector. He then moved to Adani Logistics as Senior Vice President where he formulated strategies for the development of the multimodal logistics business, and also set up the bulk foodgrain logistics business for the group. |

A graduate from Amritsar, Mr Rajesh Verma joined Forbes Group in 1986 and worked in Sales & Mktg. He then joined CHA business in 1994 and got own CHA licence in 1997 in the name of M/s A.R. Shipping. Later Mr Verma went on to venture into LCL consolidation & freight forwarding in 1999 in the name of M/s Freightways and added transport fleet operation in 2008 as associate firm in the name of M/s Freightways Container Services. Mr Verma is also an active member on the board of trade bodies like FFFAI. |
Mr. Nityam Khosla, President, Consolidators Association of India
Starting out as a shipping coordinator with a trading firm in Hong Kong, Mr Nityam Khosla returned to India for a brief stint as management trainee in Forbes Gokak Ltd before joining Allcargo Movers (now Allcargo Global Logistics), a start-up company, as one of the founder members of the management team. He was there for 13 years, during which the company grew from having 8 employees to around 2,000 employees with offices all over the world and achieving stock exchange listing. He left Allcargo in 2005 as Vice-President. The same year Mr Khosla and a colleague promoted Teamglobal Logistics Ltd, which has emerged as one of the fastest growing and leading LCL consolidators and logistics companies in India, with 12 own offices and qualified staff of more than 300. Mr Khosla, who is President of Consolidators Association of India since 2004, is well versed in setting up new business divisions and marketing functions, building teams, and creating agency networks internationally. |
Mr. Y. G Parande, Former Member - Central Board of Excise & Customs (Budget & Computerisation)
Joining the Customs & Central Excise service way back in 1975, Mr Yashodhan Parande has been part of Customs making the paradigm shift from being primarily an enforcer of laws to a facilitator of trade. He has had the distinction of holding a wide variety of posts, including Commissioner of Customs and Commissioner of Central Excise, Mumbai, Additional Director-General, Directorate of Systems, New Delhi, before his appointment as D.G. (Systems) in September 2006. Mr Parande has been instrumental in guiding the formulation of a number of path-breaking trade facilitation initiatives of Customs While posted in the Department of Personnel & Training, he was closely involved with the government’s initiatives for implementation of the Citizen’s Charter and Right to Information. He helped the Working Group on Right to Information in formulating its recommendations and in preparation of the draft Freedom of Information Bill that was submitted to the government. As Commissioner of Customs, Sahar International Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai, Mr Parande led the team which implemented the Risk Management System for Customs. The RMS has been successfully implemented in 23 major Customs locations in the country. |

To exploit his versatility, he went to Dubai and worked in Shipping trade for a year. Later on, he moved to New York for a year in 1995 in legal department in a Newspaper firm. In 1996, he came back to liner shipping trade in India. Since then he has been handling different functions in the liner shipping agency business, while moving up as the Vice President of MSC Agency (India) Pvt Ltd, heading the North India offices. |
